WORKSHOPS / SHORT-TERM PROGRAMMES / REFRESHER COURSES ORGANIZED BY THE COLLEGE

  • A Workshop was organized by the Department of Humanities and Sciences on “The Relevance of Communication Skills in the Present Scenario”, during 28th-29th of August 2008, as part of Faculty Development Programme. Most of the young Faculty of the College and Final Year Students were the participants. Dr. S. Mohanraj, Professor, Department of Training & Development, EFL University, Hyderabad. Ms. K. Madhavi Reddy, Assistant Professor of H&S Department was the Chief Coordinator for the Workshop. Dr. P. Kiranmai Dutt, Vice-President, HR & Training, Knoah Solutions, Dr. S. Jaya Raj, Lecturer, Centre for Phonetics and Spoken English, EFL University, Hyderabad, Dr. V. Ramachandra Rao, Chairman and Principal Director, Abhay International Institute of Human Life Technology, Hyderabad, Sri. M.N. Raju, Lecturer, Govt. Degree College, Gajwel, Certified Trainer in CLT Techniques from US State Department were the Resource Persons and delivered expert lectures during the 2 day programme.
  • A Workshop was organized by the Department of ECE on “Wireless Communication and Networks” during 26th-28th November 2008. Dr. S. Ramachandram from OU was invited as a Guest Faculty. Prof. P. Gurunadha Rao, Professor & Head, ECE Department and senior faculty of ECE Department were resource persons.
  • A short term course on “Embedded Systems” was conducted by the Department of Electronics & Communication Engineering (ECE) from 1st -5th September 2008. The course mainly reflected on 1. Overview of microcontroller 2. Instruction set of microcontroller 3. Overview of Embedded Systems 4. Hands on experience (Interfacing LEDs & Switching) 5. Demo and Hands on experience of 7 Segment Display and Serial Communication 6. Demo and Hands on experience of LCD interfacing 7. Overview of RTOS mu Cos case study 8. hands on experience using mu Cos. Prof. P. Gurunadha Rao, Prof. & Head, ECE Department & Director, Students’ Affairs was the Chief Coordinator for the programme.
  • One week Intensive course on “FPGA & ASIC Design Flow” was conducted by the Centre for VLSI Design, Department of ECE of the College from 1st – 5th September 2008. The Course primarily aimed to expose the students of B.Tech., final year to do projects in the domain of VLSI. Sri. Y. Amar Babu, Associate Professor of ECE Department was the Chief Coordinator for the programme.
  • A Workshop was organized by the Department of EIE on “Industrial Automation” during 27th – 29th November 2008. Prof. T. Lakshminarayana, Professor & Head, EIE Department was the Chief Coordinator for the workshop. Sri. K.S. Narendra Kumar, Sr. Asst. Professor and Sri. D. Satish Kumar, Assistant Professor of EIE Department were Course Coordinators. The Workshop was mainly aimed at covering various topics such as Virtual Instrumentation, Lab View 8.0 Software, MULTISIM software for circuit simulation and analysis, RS VIEW-32 (SCADA) and RS Logix-500 ALLEN BRADLEY Micro Logix 1200 PLC.
  • A Workshop was organized by the Department of Informatics on “Real-Time Distributed Systems” from 2nd – 5th September 2008. The Workshop was mainly aimed at orienting the Faculty to do research activities in this up coming field. Dr. K.V. Chalapati Rao, Dean, Prof. R. Seetharamaiah, Professor & Head, IT Department, Prof. U.V. Ramana Sarma, Professor & Head, Department of Informatics of the College have delivered the expert lectures.
