CVR again tops Accenture placement drive
Once again CVR'ites managed to grab the highest number of recruitments at Accenture off campus recruitment. 21 of our students were selected in Accenture off campus recruitment.
CVR even beat VNR Vignana Jyothi college considering that our intake for the graduating batch was 420 compared to VNR's 540. The 15th of March rendered CVR’ites happy yet again, and added credit to CVR’s enchanting popularity and quality education throughout the state.
It shows that Infosys was not an one-off event where CVR topped but it continues to top other recruitment activities as well.
CVR wizards shine at Infosys Recruitment Drive
CVR managed to grab the top slot in terms of the number of students being placed at the Infosys Recruitment Drive in Andhra Pradesh. With around 75 colleges participating all over the state and more than 7000 students appearing for the drive, 50 of our students were selected out of the total 503 selects statewide, which is 10% of the total selects.
CVR Student bags three University Gold Medals
In just the short span of establishment of CVR, it has created a history by breaking the stranglehold among all the affiliated colleges of JNTU in Andhra Pradesh.
It is a matter of honor and pride for us that this year our student HARSH.H.SHAH grabbed three gold medals in row for “Best out going student of Computer Science Engineering out of all affiliated Colleges”,” Dr. Md. Vizarath Rasool Khan chief promoter, Shadan group endowment gold medal to be awarded for B. Tech (Computer Science Engineering) 1st rank in the JNTUH affiliated Colleges” and “Late Prof. G. Purushotham memorial Endowment gold medal for best outgoing student who got highest marks in mathematics in constituent and affiliated colleges”. This is a momentous occasion in the college’s history. These results are testimony to the effort and commitment shown by all the CVR’ians. We are immensely proud of Harsh and all the staff at CVR College. This is a fantastic achievement for everybody connected with the college.
MoU with WAYNE STATE UNIVERSITY
A team of three Professors from Wayne State University (WSU), Detroit, Michigan, U.S.A., visited the College on 19th January, 2008, to initiate collaborative programmes between WSU and CVRCE. The team addressed the final year students and staff of the College and had a formal interaction with the Professors and Management. At the end of the day, they expressed utmost happiness to enter into an MoU with CVRCE to develop and promote the following activities between WSU & CVRCE. In the presence of Dr. C.V. Raghava, President & Chairman, CVR College of Engineering, they proposed to initiate the following schema.
- Exchange of teaching and research personnel;
- Development of joint scientific and / or technological research projects;
- Development of joint 1+1 Master of Science Degree programs in Computer Science & Engg.,
WSU signed an MoU with CVR on 28thMay, 2009, to offer 1+1 M.S. in Computer Science for our M.Tech. & MCA students, begining Fall 2009 for a 5 year period
Extension of approval by AICTE
Based on the proposal submitted during the academic year 2008-09, AICTE has extended the approval of following courses from the academic year 2009-10 for five years.

Admissions and Filling up of Seats
This year CVRCE has gained the distinction of being the most sought after College of Engineering of the JNTU jurisdiction. There has been a rising demand for CVRCE as is evident in admission of top rankers since inception. The intake of meritorious students has considerably increased at the entry level.
Baby Creche
CVRCE takes distinct credit of starting a baby creche in the College premises,exclusively for the pre - school babies. Out of special concern for nursing mothers working as faculty members, ‘baby creche’ has been conceptualised on 13th Oct 2008. The kids are taken good care by specially posted baby sitters who supervise the kids from time to time attending to their needs. The creche provides the basic amenities to the kids extending a homely and playful environment. These facilities are also provided to other school going kids on Saturdays and during vacation period.
NBA Accredited
CVR is the only Engineering College in the entire AP to have achieved the following three major accomplishments within the first 6 years of existance - getting NBA accreditation, having record campus placements and getting funding of >Rs.18lakhs from central government agency.
RESEARCH PROJECT FROM DRDO
In a short magnificent attempt at helping the intellectuals to discover themselves and contribute towards innovations in the field of education, CVRCE ventures into the dawn of self reliant, erudite milieu by the initiation of Research and Development Programmes. In this direction a second Research Project entitled “Investigation and Development of Bismuth Layered Perovskite Ferro-electrics for Memory Applications” was sanctioned by DRDO for a grant of Rs.14.95 Lakhs on 23rd May, 2008 to be completed in three years.
INAUGURATION OF LIBRARY BLOCK
Hon’ble Member of Parliament and Minister for Urban Development Shri Jayapal Reddy Garu gracefully inaugurated the newly constructed edifice of the library amidst the presence of many dignitaries, academicians, and invitees on 4th April 2008.
SHORT-TERM COURSES AT CVRCE
An Intensive Course on “Multimedia and Application Development (Theory & Practice)” was organized by the Department of IT, from 11th to 16th Feb, 2008 with Prof. R. Seetharamaiah, Professor & Head of IT Department as the Chief Coordinator and Mr. K. Brahmanand, Associate Professor of IT Department as Course Coordinator. Dr. K.V. Chalapati Rao, Dean, CSE & Informatics, Prof. R. Seetharamaiah, Professor of IT Dept., Prof. U.V. Ramana Sarma, Head of Informatics Dept., Prof. K. Brahmanand, Prof. C. Ramesh, Assoc. Professors and Mr. Afroz, Asst. Professor were among the resource persons.

Siva Reddy, Vice-Principal & Head of CSE Department as the Chief Coordinator. Dr. K.V. Chalapati Rao, Dean CSE & Informatics, Prof. L.C. Siva Reddy, Head of CSE Dept., Prof. U.V. Ramana Sarma, Head of Informatics Dept., Prof. R. Seetharamaiah, Professor of IT Dept., Prof. C.V.S. Satyamurthy, Prof. L. Venkateswarlu, Associate Professors; Mr. Ch. Ram Mohan, Sr. Asst. Professor & Mr. J. Govardhan Reddy, Asst. Professor, were among the resource persons.
CVR is ranked in the TOP-5 JNTU colleges in the OU area. CVR is the only college among all colleges that started in 2001-02 or later in the OU area with all seats flled at EAMCET councelling for 8 years.
CVR is the only NRI promoted engineering college in the OU area.
CVR is being perceived at the level comparable to old and established colleges.
Over 120 students of our 2007-08 batch already placed.
AICTE approved M.Tech programs in VLSI Design and Software Engineering at CVR begining 2006-07.
CVR has established a Center for VLSI Design which is among the best in the State. CVR also has industry stateof-the-art tools from Cadence, IBM, Microsoft, Oracle, Altera and Xilinx worth millions of Dollars.
Professors who have previously worked at OU and JNTU are with CVR today.
